Doubles support

Hi there!

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen each other, but that doesn’t mean that I’ve forgotten you at all =). This update is focused on better support for the doubles, some tweaks, QoL improvements, tweaks, and stats. There are still a couple of things to deliver, but I decided to keep them for the next releases =). So:

The “Doubles” mode on the Watch app

This update is mainly focused on supporting the doubles. Now, you can enable “Doubles” in the “Match Type” menu (Menu button -> Match mode -> Singles / Doubles switch). If enabled, then automatically simple tracking mode is enabled (in doubles it is impossible to track the serves, forced errors, etc for each player…) In addition, when you synchronize this match to the cloud, it is uploaded as a Doubles match and counted as a Doubles without any additional action.

There are also changes in the matches list – I improved filtering, now we can filter matches, for example, by partner, and the partner is visible now in the table view. So you can see at a glance with whom you played, against whom you played, and what the result was.

Match preview changes

The most important change, in terms of match preview, is that I removed the “Points Distribution” tab; in my opinion, it doesn’t deliver any value; the data here is duplicated in other tabs, so I decided to replace it with a “Momentum” tab. In this tab, you can see when you played your best tennis and when you put the best pressure on the opponent. It is calculated as a moving coverage from the last 4 points. I plan to extend this tab in the near future, but at the moment I’m waiting for your opinions, reviews, and suggestions 🙂

I also added the possibility to export the match. to csv file. If you click the “Export” file, you receive the CSV file with all of the points from the match, with point timestamp (seconds from the beginning of the match), and the current game result. It can be helpful if you record your matches and want to see a specific point or add an overlay to your video.

Dashboard

The dashboard section was also a little bit reworked. The “Serve games consistency” tile is replaced with the “Serve Consistency” and the stats presented here are (I hope) more relevant, like Accuracy, points (1st serve and overall), and games held. To the second tile I added a layer, which presents the time spent on court – the sum of the duration of your practices and matches, including warmups. If you didn’t record the match via Garmin Watch, the time of the match is estimated – the more games you played, the more time you spend on the court =)

Minor changes / Bugfixes

There are also minor changes and bugfixes.
– The pagination for the “Match” section is reworked and is more scalable.
– The dashboard now calculates badges also for matches, that was imported without “advanced tracking” – both for simple tracking in singles and doubles
– When you are adding the doubles match (or editing) the “doubles partner” and “Doubles Opponent” fields show the list of recent partners/opponents, so it’s easier to fill these fields if you frequently play with the same partner

Thank you for your support, and see you on the court!
